That Cold!

is back ... extra Vitamin C (1000-1500 mg a day instead of 500) and b12 in the morning seems to be helping.

Were I in better shape (it's the Holidays, I've not been exercising as much), I'd be fighting this with more force.

But the vitamins, I believe, are helping.

Cinnamon!

It fights fat and helps your body work better!

I just like it -- and it's great with coffee, on sweet potatoes, in oatmeal.

who knew that a bit of cinnamon could make you leaner?

It's winter ...

and that means Vitamin C

On Sunday, I noticed an irritation in my throat -- indicative of a cold to come. So, I upped my Vitamin C intake. Typically, I take a 500mg chewable every night. But On Sunday and Monday, I took one after lunch plus the night-time.

Today is Tuesday. The irritation is gone. No sign of an impending cold.

Vitamin C seems to be a helpful immune booster if you use it early enough.

Enhance with Cayenne?

well, come to find out, Cayenne Fruit is an ingredient in several male "enhancement" products. I'm guessing this is because of its metabolic enhancing qualities -- that is, it gives you energy. Also, the "heat" may stimulate blood flow and blood flow is critical. Just be careful of the stomach upset... that "enhancement" won't do you much good if you are sitting on the toilet.

Cayenne Fruit

YES...it works... small doses, though. unless you like stomach discomfort.

But you can lose a small amount by using this spice wisely!

cayenne fruit and weight loss

Well, my personal experience is that cayenne works!

I took 1 40,000 STU pill with each of three meals on both a Saturday and Sunday.

didn't do anything else differently -- that is, I consumed the same # of calories as I typically do on a weekend and exercised as normal (light house cleaning on Saturday, three mile run on Sunday).

Monday morning I was down 2 pounds from my weigh-in on Friday morning.

I will also say this: I did notice an increase in my need to have bowel movements. They weren't bad or anything, just more of them (3 in a day compared with a normal 1).

But, the treatment worked. My personal recommendation would be not to use this method for long-term treatment ...but for short-term weight maintenance or when you need/want to boost your loss a bit over a short time.

I've been maintaining at 178 since I lost those 2 pounds in 2 days.

Flintstones?

so...my normal multivitamin has been making my stomach hurt.

I looked at Flintstones and although weaker in some areas, it carries a number of the same ingredients.

It's chewable, so probably more likely to be absorbed. And when I take it, I don't have stomach problems in the morning.

Is this just as good? Or do I need to find a better multi-vitamin that doesn't hurt my stomach?

it's time...

for something new

I'll be updating and reporting more.

I've added B12 off and on for an energy boost

Vitamin D and Renal Cancer

L-arginine

I know I've posted about this before.

But I found an interesting article on l-arginine the other day. About blood flow. It CAN work, but may not be the "booster" some men are looking for.

That said, it could have benefits for your heart and keeping your arteries from being clogged. It can stimulate nitric oxide production ... which eases blood flow.

It's worth trying low doses and it doesn't seem to have too many negative side effects.

Of course, I'm not a doctor. but I've used it and think it helps with my workouts and hopefully, in keeping my heart healthier.

Yohimbine

Yohimbine: This herbal product has been available for many years. It comes from the bark of a West African tree. Its use has been questioned because, even in good, well-controlled studies, yohimbine is only slightly better than placebo (no drug at all). A renewed interest in this agent has occurred, particularly when combined with sildenafil or some of the other oral drugs. Yohimbine is safe with few known adverse effects. The customary daily dose is one tablet of 5.4 mg taken 3 times a day. SOURCE: webmd.com

While this article notes that Yohimbine is "safe" I have read many articles that suggest at least some risk... always consult a physician.

could vitamins cause my ulcers?

i don't know?

I've been taking the following for some time with noticeable health improvements:

fish oil
biotin
l-arginine
and baby aspirin -- i stopped taking the baby aspiring last week as signs of an ulcer popped up-- i'm feeling somewhat better, and I'm taking low doses of antacid and monitoring for a week or two - if the symptoms persist, I'll see a doctor next week

but i'm wondering if the vitamin combination i'm taking may also be contributing?
